Arlene Avillanosa

Ms. Arlene L. Avillanosa is an Associate Professor of the College of Fisheries and Aquatic Sciences of WPU. She earned her Baccalaureate Degree, BS Fisheries (Inland Fisheries) and her MS in Fisheries (Fisheries Biology) at the University of the Philippines in the Visayas. She is currently a PhD researcher in Aquaculture (Fisheries Genetics) candidate in Central Luzon State University, Philippines. Her relevant trainings are on Biotechnology and Molecular Biology, Fish Genetics, Aquaculture and Fisheries Resource Management. She was also one of the researchers of the RP-Vietnam 4th Joint Oceanographic and Marine Scientific Research Expedition in the South China Sea (JOMSRE-SCS IV) in 2007. Arlene works in the field of Aquaculture, Fish Nutrition, and Health Management of aquatic species with Aquaculture potentials. She is interested in marine fishes, invertebrates, and plankton diversity and studies. Result of her studies was published in peer-reviewed journals and presented at international conventions and conferences. She had been a project/ study leader in various externally and internally funded researches in the field of Aquaculture. Currently, she is the program leader of the Commission on Higher Education (CHED) Funded research on Coastal Resource Management and Aquaculture.
