The Blue Communities Early Career Researchers Network (BC ECRN) ran a Photography competition towards the end of last year and after deep consideration of all of the wonderful entries, we are pleased to announce that the Judging Panel have selected their winning photographs.

Youth creativity supported by online platforms and visual culture is becoming an increasingly prominent part of our cultural identity in the 21st century. Images and social media have become essential and powerful tools to convey ideas, opinions or information at a glance, which can lead to public discussions that are beneficial to scientists and the public.

The BC ECRN initiated a photography competition to call the younger generation (BC ECRN members and local youth within the BC study area) to express their discovery of the harmony between humans and nature to broader society and here are the winning entries:
