Ruth started her Project Manager role in October 2017, and is involved in the management of many different projects within PML. For the Blue Communities Project, Ruth will be assisting Vikki with numerous project management tasks and looks forward to being involved in the project. Prior to this, Ruth completed her PhD at Plymouth University, UK, in collaboration with PML, on the biological and ecological effects of hypoxia on coastal benthic communities and has a strong marine science background (BSc Marine Biology, MSc Applied Marine Science). Ruth has gained experience working in Dubai for an Environmental NGO, where she was responsible for providing technical knowledge and support on environmental issues within the GCC Region, and was the liaison officer for the group’s work with the IUCN, UNEP and UNCCD. Prior to this Ruth worked in the UK for the Environment Agency in two different roles, and has experience in bathing and shellfish water quality, environmental legislation and pollution mitigation.
