Dr. Roger G. Dolorosa earned his PhD degree from the School of Environmental Sciences, University of East Anglia, United Kingdom under the Ford Foundation International Fellowship Program. He is the current Editor-in-Chief of The Palawan Scientist Journal, the official publication of WPU. His researches focus on aquatic ecology and environmental conservation, mariculture, fishery resource management, and crustacean and molluscan taxonomy. He has published more than 30 research articles in various peer reviewed journals. His recent externally funded researches include the Development of simplified hatchery propagation and grow-out of pearl oysters as potential alternative livelihood (USAID-Science, Technology, Research and Innovation for Development - Research Triangle Institute); Impacts of predators and fouling organisms on donkey’s ear abalone (Commission on Higher Education-DARE TO); Establishment of coral and giant clam gardens for payment for ecosystem services (PRIMEX Inc.); Population status of abalone in Palawan (Palawan Council for Sustainable Development); and Evaluating the status of giant clams in Palawan (Philippine Council for Agriculture, Aquatic and Natural Resources Research and Development).
